Staple-less!
Yesterday afternoon Dr Glazer removed the staples (or Joe's 37 stainless steel friends as Paul says) and used steri-strips to keep the wound together. It looks wonderful and Dr Glazer could not be more pleased with his progress.
The pathology report that he read indicated that the tumor, surrounding tissue and lymph nodes were indeed malignant, and more work has to be done to completely eliminate this cancer. He will see him in 6 months and I told him that we would stand and tell him that Joe was cancer-free.
So, Joe is resting more comfortably at home - he can move around easier and doesn't have the pulling sensation from the staples. He has to wait one more week to indulge in the hot tub! He will be resting and getting healthy for his IL-2 treatment. Maureen found an IL-2 survivor who is willing to speak with Joe which should be very helpful to answer questions and really understand what he's up against.
Thanks for all your prayers - keep 'em coming! We need a miracle. Miracles happen every day. One will happen to Joe.
Thanks to my neighbor Johnny Vadas for shoveling my walk! He is just a doll.
Love and prayers,
Vicki, Gina and Tom
